Replacement vehicle on order - Permit C

You may be eligible for an exemption for your existing non-compliant vehicle if you have a compliant, replacement vehicle on order in the following circumstances:

• Upgrading with B&NES finance scheme
If you apply for a grant and/or interest free finance to upgrade a non-compliant vehicle and the application is accepted, then you can apply for a limited exemption on your current vehicle until you take delivery of your new compliant vehicle (or for two years from the launch of the zone, whichever is sooner). This will apply irrespective of the euro class of the existing vehicle.

Once registered, you do not need to do anything else to activate this exemption.

You should only apply for this exemption when you have your replacement vehicle on order under the terms of our Financial Assistance Scheme and evidence of an estimated delivery date.

• Upgrading outside of B&NES financial assistance scheme
This exemption applies to any non-compliant, chargeable vehicle if you have committed to buying a compliant, replacement vehicle without financial assistance from us. You can apply for this scheme when you have proof of order on your replacement vehicle and evidence of an estimated delivery date.

This exemption will apply until you take delivery of your new compliant vehicle, or for up to two years from the launch of the zone (whichever is sooner). Once registered, you do not need to do anything else to activate this exemption.
