Suspension Application

You can use this application form to apply for a parking suspension, a minimum of 7 days’ notice is required to suspend a resident parking bay, an unrestricted bay or a pay and display bay.

  • Suspension notification signage will be placed at the location 7 days in advance of the suspension date. The application must be made a few days in advance to allow the application to be reviewed and processed allowing a further 7 days for the suspension signs to be placed i.e. an application made on 25th March 2021 to suspend a bay 1st April would not be agreed

  • The cost of a suspension is £60 per day for each 5 meters of bay suspended plus an administration fee of £10 to review and process each application, this is a non refundable fee. The suspension fee is applicable for each single calendar day the parking bay is suspended for. You will need a credit/debit card to make this payment during this application. An administration fee of £39 will apply for amendments made to a suspension application, or cancellation if the suspension signage has already been placed

  • A charge of £25 for each suspension sign and £22 for each cone will be applied for the removal of suspension sign/cones by a contractor

  • No full or partial refund is available in the event the parking space(s) are not available, or when utility works are being carried out and completed ahead of schedule.

  • Although a suspension increases the chance that a space will be available, it cannot be guaranteed as we cannot remove vehicles parked in a suspended bay. We will try to contact any drivers who are displaying a resident permit and request them to move the vehicle. A Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) will be issued to any vehicles that remain in the suspended bay.

  • Where a residential permit, or free parking bay is being suspended, letters will be delivered to the neighbouring properties when the signs and notifications are placed.

  • To make an application for in excess of 50 metres of parking bay, please contact parkingcontrol@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

Your application will be reviewed by the Parking Control team and approved automatically if all the criteria has been fully met. Notification signage and letters to the surrounding properties will go out 7 days prior to the suspension taking place. For pay & display bays, signage will go out a few days prior.

The Parking Control team will only contact you if we require further information in order to process your suspension application. This may result in a delay in your application being processed.
