Registering for Residents Permit
To initially register for your digital permit, you will need your council tax account number for verification if you are applying for a residents permit. You can find this on your council tax bill. Please note that to protect the information on your council tax account this number cannot be given to you over the telephone. If you do not have a copy of your bill you can;
Telephone or email your local council tax office on to request another copy to be posted to your property.
Visit the council tax office to collect copy of your bill. Please note you will need to ensure that you take photo identification with you which confirms your address, a copy of your bill cannot be given to you without identification.
If you have just moved in and need to register for council tax or notify a change of address, please contact your local council tax office. You will also need to supply your postcode and house number to then be able to select your property from the search field to continue registration.
Once you have completed this process, or you are applying for any other permit, the registration process will ask for your details to set up your account, and a PIN will be sent to you by email/SMS in order that you can login to your newly created account. Keep this handy! You can ask for this to be resent to you by email or phone at any time.

Purchasing Your Residents Permits
When logged in to the MiPermit portal, select Buy Digital Permits from the menu, and select the On-Street Resident Parking Permits & Visitor Permits tab. You can then select the type of permit you require, enter the vehicle registration number and the date for the permit to start and add this to your basket. You can then add any additional permits required.
Once you have done this you will need to provide credit or debit card details to complete your purchase.
Using Your Permits
As with all digital permits, nothing needs to be displayed in the vehicle.
To manage your permit, login to the MiPermit portal and select Manage Permits from the sub menu. Here you change any personal details or your vehicle registration.
A Residents Permit can only be issued to a vehicle belonging to or hired by a person who is a resident within one of the Residents Parking Zones. You can enter the vehicle registration of your nominated vehicle on initial application or renewal of the permit. If you need to change your vehicle details, you can do so by logging in to the portal and selecting Manage Digital Permits. You will subsequently contacted by Surrey Heath Borough Council to request evidence of eligibility.
