Digital Resident and Visitor Parking Permits

Purchasing a Digital Permit

Digital Resident Permits are assigned to a specific vehicle and can be updated up to three times during the period of the permit.

Digital Visitor Permits offer more flexibility, allowing you to assign any visiting vehicle. The registration number can be changed as often as needed.

To purchase a digital resident or visitor parking permit:

  1. Select Buy Digital Permits.
  2. Choose either Resident Permit or Visitor Permit.
  3. Enter your postcode and house number or property name.
  4. Enter your details to create an account.
  5. Upload the required evidence and complete your purchase.

Please note: Resident and visitor permits will be issued automatically upon payment and reviews are undertaken to ensure all relevant evidence has been submitted.

Permit pricing is shown once you select the required duration during the purchase process.

Blue Badge Holders

Blue Badge holders are permitted to apply for one free Resident Permit per year for a vehicle registered in their name.

After creating an account for a Resident Permit:

  1. Select the dropdown marked (Blue Badge).
  2. Upload the required evidence including the front and rear of a valid blue badge.

Please note: Blue badge permit applications are reviewed before issue. If insufficient evidence has been submitted, we will write to you. If the required evidence is then not submitted within 14 days, your permit may be cancelled. You will then need to reapply in the same way.

Additional Permits

The Northumberland County Council website outlines when additional permits become available for each scheme.

After creating an account for a Resident Permit:

  • Select the dropdown marked (Additional).
  • Upload the required evidence of the additional vehicle.

Please note: Additional permit requests are reviewed before issue and only one additional permit is allowed per household. Once all permits have been allocated, no more will be available until the start date of the following year.

To change the vehicle registration on a permit:

Renewing a Permit

Permits can be renewed up to 30 days before their expiry date. If you have provided an email address, you will receive a reminder before expiry. You can also check your permit status at any time by logging into your account and selecting Manage Digital Permits.

To renew:

  1. Click the red circle next to Manage Digital Permits.
  2. Select your current permit.
  3. Choose Renew Permit and complete the process.

If you opt in to auto-renew, your permit will renew automatically without having to submit evidence in future years (unless your details change).

Cancelling a Permit

If you wish to cancel your permit before it expires, please contact MiPermit via email at help@mipermit.com or by phone on 0345 520 7007, selecting Option 2.
