Visitors Permits

How to Register

You can register for the digital visitors permit service only if you are a resident of the area and have your Council Tax number to hand during registration. If you do not have this information, please contact Wiltshire Council for assistance.

Once registered, you can login to the portal using your registered mobile number or email address, and the PIN which was sent to you on completion of the registration process.

Using Visitors Permits by SMS

To use a visitors permit by text message from your registered mobile number, you can text the word VISITOR to 61600 followed by the vehicle registration number to assign the permit to. A duration is not required as a visitor permit lasts for 24 hours from the time it is created.

For example:

VISITOR   T123EST

There is no need to display any type of permit in the vehicle, as the enforcement officers have a real-time list of authorised vehicles to check against.

SMS costs to 61600 may vary depending on your network provider. Please contact your provider for more information.

The duration of your visitors permit lasts for 24 hours from the time it is created.
