Residents Permits

Purchasing Permits

To purchase resident permits, select Buy Digital Permits and select the resident permit option.

For first time on-street resident permits, select the Resident Permit option and input your council tax number, postcode and house number/name. Select your property and continue. You will then be able to input your details to create your account and continue to make the purchase. Any further purchases can be made via the Buy Digital Permits section of your account.

Please note: Should you not have the council tax number for your property, you will need to contact Bath & North East Somerset Council at parking@bathnes.gov.uk to provide alternative proof of address.

Permit types are designated as 1st and 2nd. Permits designated 1st will be the 1st permit at the address, any additional purchases must be designated 2nd. Click the Permit Type box to select the relevant permit type.

While you can input multiple registrations on a permit, only Vehicle Registration 1 will be listed as the Active vehicle, meaning this is the only vehicle covered by the permit. For more information, please view the Amending A Registration section.

You can request that a permit is set to auto renew when making the purchase. Auto renewals are detailed in the Renewing A Permit section.

Permit costs are available by selecting a duration of the permit from the purchase screen once a registration has been input.

Amending A Registration

If you have a change in vehicle and need to update your permit, you can only do this by contacting Parking Services either by email at parking@bathnes.gov.uk, or calling 01225 477133. A £10 administration charge is payable for any vehicle registration mark changes that are accepted.

To switch the active vehicle on a permit, click Manage Digital Permits and select the current active permit. Once the permit details are displayed below, click Select Active Vehicle and you can switch as required.

Renewing A Permit

Permits can only be renewed up to 30 days in advance of the expiry date. If you have provided an email address, an email will be sent to you to advise of the upcoming expiry. Alternatively, you can view your permit at any time via the Manage Digital Permits section of your account.

To renew a permit, click the red circle next to Manage Digital Permits and click on the current active permit displayed. You will then be able to select Renew Permit from the permit details displayed and process as required.

Should your permit be set to auto renewal, the permit will be processed 7 days in advance of the permit expiry date. This is to ensure that, should there be any issues in collecting payment for the permit, you will have time to manually renew the permit.
