Business Parking Permits

Purchasing Permits

To purchase resident permits, select Buy Digital Permits and select the business permit option.

For first time on-street business permits, select the Business Permit option and input your postcode and house number/name. Select your property and continue. You will then be able to input your details to create your account and continue to make the purchase. Any further purchases can be made via the Buy Digital Permits section of your account.

Please note: Permit reviews are undertaken by Devon County Council. Should a permit be rejected, you will need to reapply in the same manner as you had done so. Transactions made are cancelled if a permit is rejected, meaning it will return to your available balance. Timescale for this depends on your bank/card provider.

Should you wish to discuss the reasons for rejection in depth, please contact Devon County Council directly.

Permit types are designated as 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd . Permits designated 1 st will be the 1 st permit at the address, any additional purchases must be designated 2 nd or 3 rd . Click the Permit Type box to select the relevant permit type.

Amending A Registration

Please note, you must do this via the MiPermit website not via the MiPermit App.

  • When logged in, click on the “Manage Digital Permits” banner. Click on the type of permit you want to amend and then click on the applicable permit to view the “Edit Registrations” button.
  • Click on the “Edit Registrations” button and in the pop-up window edit the vehicle registration to the required registration and click on “Save Details” to close the window. The new registration should then be displayed and assigned to the digital permit.

Alternatively you can still email: parkingpermits@devon.gov.uk with details of the active permit number, permit holder’s name and address, current registration number and the new registration number and we will do this for you, however emails submitted outside of office times may not be dealt with until our next opening time.

Renewing A Permit

Permits can only be renewed up to 30 days in advance of the expiry date. If you have provided an email address, an email will be sent to you to advise of the upcoming expiry. You can view your permit status at any time via the Manage Digital Permits section of your account.

To renew your permit, click the red circle next to Manage Digital Permits and click on the current active permit displayed.   If the details shown are correct you can then click Renew Permit from the permit details displayed and complete the process as required.

Once payment is approved your new parking permit will automatically run from the date your current ends for another 12 months.

If your car or personal details have changed, make any changes required and save those changes before renewing your permit.

Some business permits do require additional proofs and are subject to approval when renewed.  If you are asked to upload proofs you should wait for a notification email to confirm if approved or declined before relying on your permit to park in your chosen zone.

Cancelling A Permit

Should you need to cancel your permit during it’s period, you can do so by selecting Manage Digital Permits and clicking on the current permit displayed. You will then be able to select the Cancel Permit option from the permit details displayed. Alternatively, you can contact MiPermit either via email at help@mipermit.com or by telephone on 0345 520 7007, selecting Option 2 .

Refunds are permit dependent, please review the terms & conditions set out by Devon County Council.

Changing An Address

When you know your leaving date, you should login to your MiPermit account and cancel any permits you hold and receive a pro-rata refund for any remaining unused full calendar months or unused visitor hours and close your account on the date you move out of the address.

Failing to do so will prevent the new owners/occupiers from being able to access the allocation of permits for that address. Devon County Council may retain any refund you could have had, if it has to cancel permits to allow new occupiers to access permits for the address.

Any further questions on transferring permits or cancelling accounts please email parkingpermits@devon.gov.uk ahead of moving date for guidance.
