Cashless Pay & Stay Parking
MiPermit provides cashless, ticketless parking across many locations. You can -
- pay by card (debit or credit)
- avoid paper tickets
- extend your stay remotely (where supported)
- book parking up to seven days in advance
When you park, your vehicle details are synchronised in real-time with patrolling enforcement officers’ hand-held devices
How to Create or Extend a Parking Stay
You can create or extend a stay in several ways:
1. MiPermit App
How it Works
- use with or without an account
- search by location code or GPS
- select your registration and confirm your stay
To Extend a Stay
- go to Current on the home screen
- select your active stay
- tap Extend (if available at your location)
Some locations may have maximum tariffs or no-return periods that cannot be overridden.
2. Website Portal
How it Works
- go to the pay for parking section
- choose your location
- select start time and duration
- enter or select your vehicle registration
- confirm and pay
To Extend a Stay
- go to the pay for parking section
- select your current stay
- click extend to continue
Some operators will have set a maximum available tariff or no return time at the location. These can not be overridden.
3. By Telephone
Option A – MiPermit Customer Contact Centre
- call 0345 520 7007 and select Option 1
- provide location code, vehicle registration, and duration
- confirmation will be sent via text (if mobile is linked)
Option B – Automated Telephone Payment (ATP)
- call 0345 505 1155
- enter location code and duration
- first-time users will be prompted for vehicle registration
To Extend a Stay
- use the MiPermit app, website, or call back using the same method
4. By Text Message
First-Time Users
To Extend a Stay
- text - PARK [Your Vehicle Registration] to 61600
- you will receive a call back to complete your booking (location code, payment, reminder option)
Existing Users
- text format - PARK [Location Code] [Duration] to 61600
- default vehicle on your account will be used
- to park a different vehicle - PARK [Location Code] [Duration] [Registration Number]
To Extend a Stay
- text - EXTEND [Duration] to 61600
Example: If you parked for 1 hour and want to extend, the system may automatically charge for the next tariff (e.g., 4 hours), depending on location rules.

At registration, a temporary 10p card check may appear as a pending transaction. It is automatically cancelled and funds are not taken.
