Visitor Tickets

Registering for Visitor Tickets

To initially register for your digital Visitor Tickets, you will need your Council Tax account number for verification (you will only need to provide this information once).

Your Council Tax account number can be found on your Council Tax statement.

If you are unable to locate your Council Tax statement, you can request a copy of this from your local authority:

Once this information is confirmed, you will need to provide an email address and/or mobile phone number.

Purchasing Visitor Tickets

When logged in to the MiPermit portal, go to the Buy Digital Permits page and then select the Visitor Tickets sub-menu item.

Select the Visitor Ticket type you require (if more than one type of Visitor Ticket is available to purchase) and then proceed to make payment.

You will be able to use your newly purchased Visitor Tickets as soon as the payment is taken.

You will need to provide credit or debit card details (except American Express) to complete your purchase.

Using your Visitor Tickets Online

As with all digital Visitor Tickets, nothing needs to be displayed in the vehicle, as the enforcement officers have a real-time list of authorised vehicles to check against.

When logged in to the MiPermit portal, go to the Manage Digital Permits page and then select the Visitor Tickets sub-menu item.

From here, you can view your purchased Visitor Tickets.

To use a Visitor Ticket, simply select the type of Visitor Ticket and then enter the vehicle registration number and the date and time you wish your Visitor Ticket to start.

Using your Visitor Tickets by SMS

Only mobile numbers registered to the account will be able to activate Visitor Tickets by text. You may add more than one mobile number to your account to use Visitor Tickets, i.e. friends, family, carers, cleaners etc.

For example, to activate a Visitor Ticket with vehicle registration number T123 EST wishing to stay for no longer than 4 hours, a text message can be sent to 61600 with the following text:

VISITOR   T123EST   4hour

or

VISITOR   T123EST   4hrs

Please leave a space between the word VISITOR and the vehicle registration number, and a space between the vehicle registration number and the length of time.

The Visitor Ticket will start from the time you send the text message.

Make sure that you write the vehicle registration number without spaces and ensure it is correct (for example, do not enter a zero in place of the letter 'O').

The length of time should also be written without spaces (for example, '4hours' instead of '4 hours') and must only correspond to your purchased Visitor Ticket types, i.e. you cannot put '2hours' for two one-hour Visitor Tickets to cover you for two hours.

Visitor Tickets will only be valid up to midnight on the day they are used; they will not carry over into the following day.

For all-day Visitor Tickets, which run up to midnight on the day of activation, write '1day'.

Please be aware you may only activate one Visitor Ticket at a time by text message.

SMS costs to 61600 may vary depending on your network provider; please contact your provider for more information.

Please also be aware that a Visitor Ticket can only be cancelled before it is due to start; once it is activated, it cannot be cancelled.

Using your Visitor Tickets by Telephone

Please contact the South Essex Parking Partnership and a member of our team will ask for the vehicle registration number and the date and time you wish your Visitor Ticket to start.
