Medical Permit
Existing users
If you are already a registered user login to the MiPermit portal to manage your digital parking permits.
Get a Medical Permit
Login to the MiPermit Portal select 'Get Permits and Exemptions’ and then ‘Medical Permit'.
You must be either:
- a registered healthcare provider for example doctor, nurse, health and social care service personnel and community care personnel operating through either Bristol City Council or the NHS
- a care provider registered with the Care Quality Commission
- any other provider who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
You’ll need to upload:
- a confirmation of employment letter on headed paper from your employer confirming that you (the named carer) provide care in the home
- photograph or scan of the front and first inside page of your vehicle registration certificate (V5c) / vehicle logbook or lease agreement for vehicle 1
- confirmation that your vehicle is insured for business use. A statement about this can be included in the confirmation of employment letter for vehicle 1
- photograph or scan of the front and first inside page of your vehicle registration certificate (V5c) / vehicle logbook or lease agreement for vehicle 2 if you are adding a second vehicle
- confirmation that your vehicle is insured for business use if you are adding a second vehicle. A statement about this can be included in the confirmation of employment letter for vehicle 2
Use your Medical Permit
Your Medical Permit is a digital permit. You don't need to display any type of permit in your vehicle. Your permit will be active straight after your application has been approved and paid for.
If you’ve added two vehicle registration numbers to your permit you need to activate the required vehicle on the permit. You can do this in several ways:
- Login to MiPermit portal, select ‘Manage Digital Permits. Choose the permit you want to update and 'Select Active Vehicle' to change the active vehicle on the permit.
- Login to the MiPermit smartphone app, select ‘Permits’ from the menu, then choose the permit you want to update. Select 'Edit' to change the active vehicle on the permit.

Manage your Medical Permit and your MiPermit account
To manage your Medical Permit, login to the MiPermit portal where you can:
- change the active vehicle
- change your password
- add other people to your account so that they can manage your permits and activate traders daily parking permits visitor parking permits. Any other permit owners that you add when buying your permits will automatically become members of your account, they can login using their own email address if you added it, using the forgotten password link on the login page to get access and create their own password.
- update any saved payment card details
- view your payments and receipts
- get additional permits
- find contact details
